Innovation and technology transfer

Innovation and Technology Transfer has been an area of weakness not only at the Nencki Institute but also on the entire Ochota Research Campus and Poland in general. While the Nencki Institute and other leading Polish scientific institutions located on this Campus have recently received significant investment funding from European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), their innovation potential has remained largely untapped.

Tasks in stimulating innovation and technology transfer at the Nencki Institute will be realized in partnership with EMBLEM – an SME which represents a commercial arm of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and in consultation with the Technology Transfer department of the Weizmann Institute. Results of this cooperation should enable designing a technology transfer model suitable for implementation for the entire Ochota Research Campus and the CePT consortium, as a model case study for Poland in the Life Sciences sector.

The Nencki Institute proposes to become the frontrunner and leader not only on the Ochota Campus but also in the entire region through implementation of a Technology Transfer practice in Life Sciences based on Best Practice models available in Europe.
