Workshops “Add value to knowledge” at the Nencki Institute

On May 31st, The Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology organized a half day workshop on managing science projects with a potential for commercialization.

This workshop has shown examples how to add value to existing research programs and inventions of research institutions using the technology transfer toolbox. Furthermore it provided ideas how to set-up the contractual and financial framework and, last but not least, a chance to learn from success stories as well as failures in form of case studies. The workshop was run by dr Martin Raditsch – former deputy director of EMBL Enterprise Management Technology Transfer GmbH (EMBLEM), which is an affiliate and the commercial arm of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).

The event was organized by the Nencki Institute under an FP7 EU (Capacities) project – BIO-IMAGing in research INovation and Education (BIO-IMAGINE), contract no 264173.
